No time to wait for tomorrow’s newspaper to get today’s news. News whenever it happens. Online news portals are becoming popular in Bangladesh in keeping with the fast moving world. Entrepreneurial interest in this medium is also increasing due to low cost and readily available high-speed internet.
The first online news portal named ‘News Report’ was published in 1974 from Illinois State University in the United States. After that various newspapers around the world launched their online editions. However, the ‘Southport Reporter’ published in the year 2000 from the United Kingdom became known as a modern online news portal.
As such, the journey of online news portal has started in Bangladesh in a very short time. The country’s online news portal BD One News started its journey in 2024. Its chief publisher and editor is Md. Samsul Alam
